Did you know that 86% of children found in an aquatic emergency are wearing their day to day attire? This provides a completely different experience for your child. Extra weight, sensory experiences and distractions. At ISR of Lake Lanier, our lessons are concluded when children demonstrate that they are both competent and confident in their skills. It is NEVER a "trial by fire" or a "push and see what happens scenario".
During the final week at ISR of Lake Lanier lessons, while under the watchful eye of Instructor Robin Adams, each of her students have the opportunity to practice their ISR Self-Rescue™skills in both their summer and winter clothes. Lessons begin in February contact Robin today: email@example.com or visit our sign up page by clicking HERE!
Registration for my ISR of Lake Lanier May Session will begin in March 2016. Lessons are scheduled to begin the first or second week in May (weather permitting). The location is off of Suwanee Dam Road (near North Gwinnett High School). Lessons will be given in the mornings tentatively from 9am-11:30am.
If you would like for me to contact you once registration begins, please click here and fill out your information.
If you are looking for "lots of singing of songs while you hold your baby in the water, turning in circles"...ISR of Lake Lanier is not the right program for you. However, if you are looking for a program that will teach your child aquatic survival skills if they go unnoticed in a body of water then you are on the right website and off to a great start! Self-rescue swimming is an added layer of protection. Although many programs for young children focus on a water orientation approach using songs and games, this particular approach does NOT teach your child any of the skills necessary for survival.
Many programs teach children that the water is a fun place to play without teaching them any meaningful skills. Remember the water will not be a fun place for your child if he or she is unskilled and finds himself alone in the water. This approach may actually make a child more vulnerable to drowning as a child is taught to be fearless without any understanding of the skills needed for effective swimming.
ISR lessons encourage water competence first thereby promoting a safe foundation for a lifelong enjoyment of the water.
