ISR of Lake Lanier Certified Instructor - "Ms. Robin"
|
With nearly two decades of dedicated instruction in survival swim skills for infants and young children, I remain committed to the mission of preventing tragic accidents around water. Raising and homeschooling five children keeps me joyfully busy, yet I still find time to offer ISR sessions, maintenance lessons, and refreshers when availability allows.
My heartfelt hope is that no family experiences the loss of a child to drowning, and every child gains the confidence and skills to be safe around the water. |

There is nothing more rewarding than teaching a young child, while in the water, to roll onto his/her back and take their first breath of air. Having experienced a drowning in our family in 2005, I became dedicated to the mission of teaching children the ISR Self-Rescue® Survival skills. I will not let your child leave my program until I am completely satisfied that they are able to handle themselves as problem solvers in an aquatic emergency. I think what sets me apart from other programs is a combination of the incredible ISR Self-Rescue® Survival techniques, my experience around water and as an educator. Since my initial ISR Self-Rescue® certification in 2007 I have trained more than 335+ infants and young children aquatic self-rescue® survival skills, given more than 9,200 swim lessons in 18 years, and have taught four of my five children (the youngest will begin her lessons at 10 months of age, Winter of 2026). I understand what you feel while watching lessons and I am always open with my communication as to what I am doing and what your child is learning every step of the way. By the end of your child's lessons, I promise you will not feel that “parent panic” when your child is in or near the water.
My ISR Self-Rescue® certification training was completed in July of 2007 and included 60+ hours of supervised in-water hands-on training with a Master Instructor and 18 ISR Self-Rescue® students. My ISR Self-Rescue® education included extensive academic study and testing in child psychology, physiology, and behavioral science. As an ISR Self-Rescue® Instructor, I am required to complete annual reviews and re-certification to ensure that my skills and techniques continue to meet the highest ISR Self-Rescue® standards.
My mission is to help educate our Lake Lanier community about how to prevent infant drowning. Though I am retired from educating high school students, I can't think of anything else I would rather do with my life than continue to educate children about ISR's Specialized Aquatic Self-Rescue® technique. It has been, and will continue to be, the most rewarding work I do. My goal is to bring the ISR Self-Rescue® program to as many families in Northeast Georgia as possible!
